The forty acres of land surrounding the farmstead is grazed by lonk sheep - a local pennine breed. Cattle also browse the slopes - the highest pasture being at 1300 feet.

This elevated position gives splendid views across Saddleworth and the surrounding hills and moors of Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

Each of the cottages share these views and also benefit from outside seating in the cottage  gardens. In the fold of the hill, just above the farmstead, are stables which are available to equine visitors.

Despite being a haven of tranquility, the cottages are conveniently situated just yards from the main A624 road making them very accessible.
